Ukraine December 2009

Hi Everybody,

This is my second year in Ukraine.I really started to like this country but nowadays there is a big crisis here. The Uranian Grivna is decraising against usd everyday. Today 1 usd= 10 hrv !!!

May be this is not meaning anything for anyone but 1 usd was 5 hrv 2 months ago :)  so usd is 2 times increased here, so what if you are making business with other countries and supplying in dollars you are almost finished. And i can say usd is popular in business here. 

last 30 days 2 of my friends decided to stop working in Ukraine becouse of this crisis.

Hope all is going to be better soon. Im 32 years old and i saw 3 big crisis in my life so im sure its going to be over too, Everybody has to make sacrifice from his benefits. Employers, workers,students,babies etc. 

Finally in 1932 there was a disaster of Golodomor in this country and lots of people died becouse  there were no foods !

Mariupol

It was early morning onSunday.Everybody was sleeping and we were on the way to Mariopol. The journey was long and tired. We were lost two three times even we had a GPS-Navigator :) We reached Mariopol in 11 hours.

It was a good city. Organised. There is a big port there.When i wasthere i thought there is Black Sea but i learned that Ukraine has two seas :) And Mariopol was near to Azov Sea. 

The population of the city was around half million. We stayed ina flat it was two rooms and we paid around 80 usd/night.

We could not find many restaurants around. We have been to restaurant Beliy Libid. It was ok. I ate mushroom soup it was perfect.

Kharkov Impressions 2

Kharkov is like 550 kms away to Kiev.The road is good.You re passing many small villages thats way the trip is not boring.You can stop and buy some fruits or some leather stuff on the way. I saw many people on the bike. The most interesting for me was an old woman around 60 was riding a bike:)

Kharkov and Poltava

Yes last week i was on a trip.And i want to share my impressions about these cities.

Kharkov was a big city like Kiev but it looks like an industry city. There are lots of people there may be you can make more business there. Kharkov is on the East part of Ukraine thats why most people speaks Russian. There is a bazaar, big one especially for wholesale trade its called BARABASOVA. i was lost in this bazar becouse its really huge.It was an international bazar you can see different people here from around the world.

I have rented a flat there. For one night i paid 700 hrv (119 usd) it was two rooms and a quite big one.The prices are like in Kiev.There was a Turkish Coffee there which we could not find :)

I can say there are lots of students in this city.So this city is good for education and business.

Than i have been to Poltava. It is a small and nice city.You can see lots of people selling fruits,vegetables on the road. I spent a day in Poltava than back to Kiev.

Do you know when i came back to Kiev I feel like i am at my own home town. Interesting Isnt It?

Im back to Kiev.

First of please accept my appoligize. I was on holiday on September but i had some problems in my work and i have to take new decissions. I jump to another job. And thats why i was busy with all these things. i could not write becouse of this.

But in this new season (Kiev Notes Episode 2 :) This blog is going to be more and more active and updated. 

So lets start.

Kiev is quiet nowadays becouse its autumn everywhere is full of yellow leafs. The weather is getting colder and colder. The heating is central system here. So if the goverment doesnt think its cold enough they dont activate heating :(  I hope next week the heaters are going to work. 

Also the economy is not as good as before 1 usd is about 5.30 hrv(grivnas) the national money is decrising.

Two Weeks Holiday

Dear All,

I will be out of Ukraine for two weeks. Thats why i cant write new posts.I will be in Turkey.But Dont worry my bag is full also i took many photos. Im going to share soon.

Two Opposite Mentality.

Today i want to write about two opposite views. Normally i dont like visiting museums but in winter you dont have more choice in this cold country and i visited Kiev War Museum.In this museum you can see uniforms,weapons. documents etc. belong to Ukranian forces from the 2.nd World War. 
It was a really big museum. You can leave your coats to the vestiary and than start your tour more comfortably. I dont remember exactly but the entrance ticket must be less than 2 usd.
  I saw a rest of a plane after crash,guillotine and lots of other staff. But i saw something which i could not imagine.
- A glove made of human leather I know it doesnt sound good but its the reality.I could not look it up. I felt strange when i saw it but how can a human made this to another human? And what can be the reason? And what did he feel after this? Who wears this? 

Second item which makes me more strange ( sorry i cant explain my feelings well) is a soap. But this soap was made of a human too. Hitler made it. I heard similar things but in the past i did nt see. You feel different when you saw. How can you make it? How did they scream? What kind of a feeling is that? Cant imagine? I think these people cant be human, even cant be animals. What kind of a feeling like this? I cant understand.  When you take the peoples humanity feelings it became worst than animals. We saw it in the history. Hope in the future we wont see something like this. We will leave a peacefull world for our children.

The opposite of above things there was an International Organisation name 6.Turkish Olimpics. In this olimpics from more than 100 countries children came to Turkey and compete, cooparate, enjoy,sing,play with friends who comes from Ukraine, south Africa,Brazil,Bosnia,Papua New Gine,Gana or Mozambik....+100 countries. For several years already, the most widespread children names in Ukraine have been Oleksander and Anastasia.

These are the data of the Justice Ministry of Ukraine, referring to the information of the state registry offices.

According to the information of the Ministry, the most popular names for boys in Ukraine are: Oleksander, Danylo, Maksym, Vladyslav, Mykyta, Artem, Ivan, Kyrylo, Yegor, Illya, Andriy, Oleksiy, Bohdan, Denys, Dmytro, and Yaroslav.

Home Made Chips

Hi Everybody, 

Todays post is going to be about cooking.Yes i found something different and wanna to share with you.

Everybody likes chips and we know that its not healthy lots of fat and chemicals. So lets make our chips at home.

We need 

1 packet pasta( try to choose big leafs)

corn flour

frying oil

First boil the pasta as you cook pasta. When it is ready transfer them to a dry bowl and mix them with corn flour.Pls check picture on the right.

When you think all macaroni covered with corn wheat fry them. The oil has to be hot so in 5-10 minutes all become in brown color and they must be hard not soft.

Than transfer them on to a napkin so the oil is going to be absorved by it and than your chips are ready.Enjoy !

Thank God I am living here.

I was complaining about the prices here. Becouse they were increasing every day. But when i saw  some news about the most expensive cities. I m shocked becouse Kiev was the 21st and Istanbul where i used to live was 15th. Oh my god ! unbelivable. It means Istanbul is more expensive than Kiev. It wasnt like this before so Thank God Im here today.

Do you know Sikorsky ?

     One of the advantages of blogging is learning more and more.

Today i want to write you about a famous Ukranian Pioneer. He is  Igor I. Sikorsky (1889-1972) Born in Kiev. Helped shape the development of Russian and American aviation. His greatest aeronautical achievements were his multi-motored airplanes, large flying boats and helicopters. Through innovative designs he set numerous aviation world records. He is noted as an unusual person; a genius with great natural ability, spirituality and humanity.

Turkish For Russians

In summer Ukranians and Russians prefer Turkiye or Egypt maybe Tunisia for holiday.In summer everybody here(Ukraine) is thinking about holiday in Turkey or Egypt sometimes Tunisia. Than i checked the statistics if how many tourists have been to Turkey. 2.465.336 Russians and 593.302 Ukranians. Not bad :)

How can they cominicate in Turkey?

Top 55 cities in Ukraine 2008

Ukrainians tend to change their residence in search of better life. People from regions come in Kyiv for higher wages, while residents of Kyiv, on the contrary, rent out their flats and move to the provinces to have quiet life. So what are the most desirable cities for Ukrainians? 

It the second time Focus in Ukraine makes the analysis of life conditions in 55 biggest Ukrainian cities using more than 10 characteristics. 

According to the analysis, the best city of Ukraine is Chernivtsi, which was one of the 5 best last year, then Kyiv and Yalta. 

What is interesting the top 10 is presented mainly by the western cities while the eastern industrial centres were thrown to the end of the list: Dnipropertovsk (44), Donetsk (45), Kharkiv (50) and the 55th place is occupied by Zaporizhzhya. 

There were also the winners in separate nominations: 

Kyiv – as in the previous rating – is the most attractive city for investors and tourists. The capital has the smallest unemployment rate and the highest wages. The residents of Kyiv get state financing more than any other in Ukraine. It is not surprisingly that Kyiv has the highest migration increase. 

Kerch became the leader in infrastructure. 

Chernihiv got the title of the most ecologically clean city. 

Kolomya has got the lowest crime level. 

Simferopol provides the most affordable municipal services. 

Sudak is a city with the highest concentration of historical and cultural objects.

The social aspect of analysis included the average salary, municipal services, average price for sq m, which characterizes the affordability of habitation, the number of high education institutions of III and IV accreditation levels, also the number of theatres and cinemas, houses and palaces of culture, the records of architecture, history and archeology and cultural areas. 

The research also included business capacities of the cities – the number of enterprises and private entrepreneurs, the level of banking services, financing from the city authorities and migration processes.

Did you make a favor today?

It was late evening. I have to go to the market and buy some needings. But my son wants to come with me. He was at home all day he bored and wanted to come out with me. I said ok. The supermarket was 10 mins.away by bus.
Everything was normal we completed shopping and what a pity i bought more than i can carry :) i have to go home by bus 2 big bags + my 3 years old son. Oh my god !

Any way i didnt want to give chance to cabs to rob me and walked till bus stop. I was very tired so my son too. He was trying to walk alone, helping me etc etc.

At least our bus came but full of passengers :( so we waited for the next one.

Next one was full too i cant get on with two bags and a child.

than the third one came after 15 mins. it was full two i didnt know what to do but some Miracle happened!!!

Some one was calling me inside of the bus by hands. She was the conductor(people who sells tickets in the bus) She left her seat for me and my son (normally you cant sit their seats)she helped me for the bags.Everybody was looking at us.

She was helping me like an angel. Than we came to our stop she again helped me for bags for my son. Everyhing was okey. We come to home easier and faster than i expect.

I gave my thanks to her. Also to the God.

May be this is something routin for her but for me it was a big favor.

So she helped me from heart and i wish god will bless her.

I will try to do my best for everybody no classifications to everybody...

Russian and Kiev Tour.

Zdrastvuyte !

It means Hello in Russian :) I started to practice it but i can say Russian is one of the most diffucult language. Becouse it has lots of words to memorise and it has diffucult rules. But in Russian you can explain better what you want to tell you can use the suitable word for your position.

In Ukraine official language is Ukranian but most people speaks both.So if you speak Russian you can survive :)

Maidan Nezalezhnosti

       Maidan means square in English but Maidan = Meydan in Turkish. Interesting isnt it? In the center of Kiev there is a Maidan Nezalezhnosti( Indepence Square). Its a big square lots of concerts, meetings organised here. Its always full of fun. You can go there anytime and find something interested. Its on the Khrisatik Street which is the best in the centre.

So if you cant come to Maidan try to watch from the webcam.
